前回の記事でも少し触れていたのですが、SharePoint Server 2016 Preview をインストールすると Project Server 2016 Preview もついてきます。正確にいうと Project Server 2016 は SharePoint Server 2016 のサービス アプリケーションの一つとして導入されるようになっているよう変更されています。これまでは、Project Server 2016 は SharePoint ベースでできているとはいえ、別サーバーとして構築する必要がありました。

ちなみに、Preview 版では特にプロダクトキー入力などは不要ですが、Project Server のリリース版が利用できるようになったら、別途プロダクトキー入力が必要になってくるようです。

One of the biggest changes in Project Server 2016 Preview is the installation process. Project Server 2016 Preview runs as a service application in SharePoint Server 2016 IT Preview. The SharePoint Server 2016 IT Preview MSI file will contain the installation files for Project Server 2016 Preview as well, so a separate installation is no longer required as it was in previous versions of Project Server. For the release version of Project Server 2016 that will be available at a later date, a PID key will be required to run it.
